"I actually did vote for the $87 Billion before I voted against it.."

Millions of Americans voted for Obama because they believe that Obama will end the war in Iraq very soon after he takes office. These people make the claim, well we shouldn’t be there to begin with, and it was not our war to fight, why go to war with a country that never attacked us. My question to these people is, “What would you have done if you had heard the threats to our country on September 10, 2001?” Exactly! We had a very similar threat, and people blamed Bush for not taking care of Bin Laden sooner. However, if we had gone to war the day before 9/11, he would have been criticized to no end. He had been criticized for not going to war soon enough and was not going to let that happen again!

Hillary Clinton voted to go to war, along with Edward Kennedy, John Kerry, and countless others, many who are democrats who never backed up their own decisions. Politics got involved and because the public didn’t see the intelligence that the politicians saw, they automatically lied about their votes. When the war became unpopular, the democrats all pretended that they had nothing to do with the decision to get rid of Saddam Hussein. Sean Hannity once played a recording of many democrats saying that we needed to go to war, then later when it was proven to be unpopular, said that Bush made a mistake. That video is on Youtube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCVZlLBchVE&feature=related
The only difference between Bush and all of the people who were with him on the decision to go to Iraq is that he was the only one to stick with it and not deny his involvement. Then you have Obama who has made the point saying that he was one of the few that was against Iraq, however he was a nobody at the time and didn’t even look at the intelligence the others did, so his argument is irrelevant.

I personally believe that at one time Saddam Hussein had the weapons that he once claimed to have. We know that he had a hatred for this country and that he had already attempted to assassinate George H. W. Bush. However, Americans are very quick to forget all of these things. Sure, I wish that we had killed Hussein the first time when Bush Sr. was in office, but we didn’t. I don’t care who you are, you can’t honestly say that this world isn’t better off without Saddam Hussein in power. It’s easy for Americans to complain about the war in Iraq, but they don’t remember the day that Saddam and his sons, who happened to be one of this nation’s greatest enemies in its history, were killed. They forget about the day that Iraqis tore down the statue that Saddam had put in their country. Americans don’t know that if Iraqis had disrespected Hussein the way that our country disrespects George Bush, they would be beheaded on the spot. If Hussein would do that to his OWN people, imagine what he would have done to ours!

When it boils down to it, we are winning this war, but the media is slowing us down. High ranking officials in the military make it known that we are making great progress there that the media doesn’t want you to know and won’t report. Americans complain about this war because the media only reports the cost and the number of lives lost. I am sorry, but thankful for every life given for his country, both now and in its past. I consider myself someone who is very grateful that the nation doesn’t have a draft, because I don’t what to be in the military. That being said, in 5 years of this war, we have lost around 4,000 – 4,500 men and women to this cause. We lost more soldiers in one day BATTLES in other wars that we have been in than we have lost in 5 years. I am not in any way disrespecting the lives given in this war, I am simply saying that many more may have been lost if we hadn’t gone. Most of the people who say that we shouldn’t have gone to Iraq would be asking George Bush when he is going to do something about Saddam Hussein if they had gotten what they wanted.

I honestly feel bad for the guy. It is impossible for him to make a good decision, because people complain no matter what he decides to do. Another perfect example of this occurred a year or so ago when the wildfires in California were taking place. The mayor of the city in which this was happening said that he was only visiting for publicity. He said that the secret service would have just been in the way and would have impeded the attempt to fix the problem. However when he didn’t go to New Orleans after Katrina, it was because he didn’t care, and because the majority of the population was African Americans, he was also called a racist. If you don’t believe that was the consensus, just go back and look up what Kanye West had to say about the issue. He made the comment, “George Bush don’t care about black people”. All because he knew that he would’ve been in the way and would have stopped the rescue crews from doing their jobs, he was labeled a racist for not getting in the way.

In short, George W. Bush is not the cause of all your everyday problems, as much as you might love to blame him. Just as Lou Dobbs blamed him for the Salmonella poisonings earlier this year, many people blame him for things such as their credit scores, high gasoline prices, food prices, amongst hundreds of other things. I think the problem in this country boils down to personal responsibility. It is always easier when there is someone else to blame, and it’s more fun and easier when you aren’t held accountable for making stupid comments. Most of the things people accuse him of have no basis, and its all hearsay. People who say that gas prices are his fault because he owns oil companies and that he doesn’t want the price of gas to go down should look at gas prices right now. I would welcome any of these accusers to come up with any evidence to support their claim and they would come up empty-handed. It’s amazing how much crap he took when prices were up but now that prices are going down nobody gives him any credit at all. He, of course, is only responsible for the bad things that happen, and if something good happens it is only because of sheer luck, or someone else stepped in. Don’t’ forget that democrats have been in control of the congress for two years, and that’s when the housing market started sinking, gas prices hit $4.00, and our economy hit the floor. However, the media got what they wanted, and an inexperienced, unqualified person will represent this nation for the next four years, all because the naïve nation will believe anything that David Letterman or Jon Stewart tells them. If the world doesn’t’ end by the time that Obama is through, the nation will be begging for another George Bush to run. Obama will change this nation from what it was founded on, to something that we have never seen, and the problems that it will cause, may last for decades. However, there is nothing we can do about it now. Just hope and pray for our new president, and support him as we now have no other choice, and hopefully we can make a new beginning. Enjoy your day and thank you for reading!
