Responsibility...whats that?

I would like to revisit an issue that I brought up last week. I mentioned in my last blog that I didn’t know where I stood on the death penalty, and have had time to think about it. Let’s look at the issue logically. We all make mistakes, the only difference is that some accept responsibility for those mistakes, some don’t, and others just don’t care about who they hurt or the lives that they destroy. Jeffery Dahmer is the perfect example of someone that actually accepted responsibility for his despicable actions. Many don’t realize that while in prison, he actually became a born again Christian! Not only did he become a Christian, he tried to encourage others to do the same! He realized that he had committed terrible, unthinkable acts, and did his part to make amends for those mistakes. Of course his actions were disgusting, but by the time he looked in the mirror, it was too late, and we all know we can’t go back and turn things around. So let’s get back to the death penalty issue. Having cases such as Dahmer’s, I don’t believe that the death penalty is something that should be handed out until the prisoner has had time to repent, and turn his/her life around. Granted, they could be faking their reform to spare their own life, but it’s an idea worth giving a chance. Many who are on death row are not the same people that they were when they made the mistakes that got them there. I still understand both sides of this issue, but killing the killer will not bring back the one(s) that were killed. However, for the criminals who are unrepentant and continue to have hostile attitudes, after a certain period of time I think that the death penalty should be enacted.

In the last several summers we have had a lot of children left in cars because the parent forgot that they were in the car. Consequently, the children have died because of the parent’s carelessness. I listen to talk radio all the time and hear callers say that the parent is a terrible person, that they would never do that to their kids, and that the parent should be locked up for life. The purpose of putting someone in prison should be to prevent them from committing the act again, punishment, and to change them, if possible. First of all, they did not forget their child in the car on purpose, so of course they would never do it again. Second, there is no punishment that you can give to these people that is worse than what they will put themselves through for the rest of their lives. These people will have to live with the fact that they killed their own children for the rest of their lives, which is punishment enough. So there is no point in throwing them in prison.

There is no denying that we all screw up from time to time. It annoys me when people try to find someone else who is at fault for their actions. Look at the economic mess that our country is in right now. The banks are blaming the government and the mortgage holders, and the government and the mortgage holders, are blaming the banks. All three are at fault! The banks should not have loaned out money to people who couldn’t pay it back. The government should not have lowered standards to allow people to get loans that they couldn’t pay back. Then of course, many people lied about their incomes to get loans that they couldn’t repay! It baffles me by the way, that the people who lied about their incomes didn’t think it was going to come back and bite them at some point in time. Their credit is ruined, they’re out of a home, and don’t really have anywhere to go, but they shouldn’t have gotten the loan to begin with. The point is though, that the blame shouldn’t go to one person, or to one group of people, it should go to all three groups of people.

As I mentioned before though, it’s all about accepting responsibility, which nobody seems to be willing to do today. If we were all to look in the mirror, I’m sure every single one of us would see things that we didn’t like. Jesus made it clear that we are not to judge others because we all make mistakes and nobody can say that they don’t. He also said that if we don’t forgive others, God won’t forgive us, so that’s definitely something to think about. I’m telling this exact same thing to myself because I know that there are people in my life that I have a hard time forgiving, and I need to find ways to do it. It might not always be easy, but think about this. What good does holding a grudge against someone do? How does it make you feel better? I think that if we really thought about it, we would find that it only makes us unhappy and miserable, and who wants that?

Why the Bailout Didn't Work....

So why didn’t the bailout work? They all told us it would free up credit and that everything would get back on track. Why didn’t that happen? I know I know! It didn’t work because these greedy CEOs paid themselves billions of dollars on golden parachutes and company trips! The rich used the $700 billion to make themselves richer instead of what they were supposed to use it for. I was actually for the bailout, and I know that if they had used the money correctly, it would have worked. However, the government was naïve enough to believe that these people would actually do what they were supposed to.

My argument is that we should not have trusted these people with all of this money. Look at the mess they got themselves into to begin with and tell me what made us think they would be more responsible than they were at the start. If the IRS can send a personal auditor to make my life a living hell for as long as it takes around tax time, why could we not have the same type of people going to these companies to make sure they were spending the money for the intended purpose? Why was there not some sort of a clause in this plan that threatened jail time for misuse of the bailout money? I’m baffled at the ignorance of our congress on both sides of the aisle, Republican and Democrat!

So the question of the day is whether or not we should help out the “Big 3”. I absolutely HATE having to bail out irresponsible people. In my mind it reeks of socialism instead of capitalism, it is disgusting and I despise it. However, 1 in 13 people in this nation work in some way, shape or form for the auto industry. If we don’t bail them out, 3 million people will lose their jobs. 3 million! There is no doubt in my mind that if we don’t do something about it, we will be in a depression similar to the only one that this country has ever seen.

As many of you know, I work for Honda. I grew up a Ford guy, and to a large degree, I still am. I have gained a lot of respect for Honda since I have been working there, not because of the cars themselves, but because of the way that they are marketed. Allow me to explain. One of the biggest problems facing Ford, GM, and Chrysler today is the fact that they produced millions of cars that they cannot sell. Honda does just the opposite. Honda finds out how many they can sell, and that’s how many they make. The Big 3, on the other hand, didn’t do their market research, and just kept making tons of automobiles that they couldn’t sell. Honda also produces vehicles that get better fuel mileage than Ford, GM, and Chrysler. I worked at a Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge store for a while, and NONE of their cars averaged more than 27 mpg on the highway. Honda and Toyota have plenty of cars that average 35+ mpg. I’m not sitting here trying to sell you a Honda vehicle; I’m simply telling you why they’re doing better than the big 3. If Ford, GM, and Chrysler had marketed their vehicles properly, and made more fuel efficient automobiles, they wouldn’t be in the mess that they’re in.

I have heard people suggest solutions for the problem and have found one that I agree with. Instead of giving the bail out money to the companies themselves, give it back to the consumers in the form of a tax-break. Tell consumers that if they buy a Ford, GM, or Chrysler product, that they will receive a tax credit at the end of the year. That way, people will start to spend money again, especially in the places that are really hurting. That also prevents the government from making the same mistake twice, and not giving money to people who were already irresponsible with billions of dollars before.

I don’t feel sorry for the companies that made these bad decisions, and let’s face it, the big 3 made some very bad decisions. I do, however, feel bad for the 3 million people whose jobs are in jeopardy, and those that have already lost their jobs. However, if we don’t bail out these companies and they do go out of business, I’m sure that someone else or another company will buy up the plants, and build a company that could restart the economy. Sure it would take time, but maybe that new company would employ as many if not more people than the one that it would replace. Who knows? Many of you know about DHL in Wilmington Ohio, and that they will be putting thousands of people out of work. Maybe another company will replace it. Surely someone will see a future in an empty plant that nobody is using. I’m trying to look at the glass half full, but unfortunately it seems to look half empty. Sometimes though, you have to be a realist and look at the glass, plain and simply, as being twice as big as it needs to be.

Liberal Hypocrisy

So I was thinking the other day about the hypocrisy of liberalism. Stay with me here, as I outline their “beliefs” and views. I wanted to point out things like global warming, abortion, the whole green movement, the death penalty, taxes, amongst other things and show how they contradict themselves.

Let’s start out with global warming. I’m no scientist by any means. In school, biology, chemistry, and other science classes were my worst, however I passed common sense with flying colors! All of the people who believe strongly in global warming should answer the following question. If the Earth were warming dramatically, then why has the overall temperature across the globe consistently dropped since 1998? A friend of mine went to Argentina last year, where it snowed for the first time in 100 years, and Alaska just had the coldest summer in years. Any guesses? I’ve got one! Global warming is the biggest scam in human history! By the way, one of the most outspoken figures on the subject of global warming is Al Gore, who tells everybody to conserve energy, yet flies around the world in his own private jet.

Environmentalists put the life of the Earth above the lives of humans. The fact that they keep us from drilling for our own oil is proof of that! They care more about the life of the environment, whether it be animals, trees, or any other natural part of Earth, than whether or not you and I can afford to drive to work. Granted that oil prices have dropped by half in the last couple of months, but who says they won’t go back up? When they do, once again, these tree hugging freaks will continue to be the reason we can’t take advantage of our own resources! More proof that they put the life of the environment ahead of human life is very interesting, so let’s continue.

An overwhelming majority of environmentalists are democrats, who are also “pro-choice”. So these people who are so adamant about cruelty to animals don’t really mind if we kill a baby because of the misdeeds of the parents! I believe that abortion should only be legal in cases of rape, incest, or if the mother could be killed as a result of the birth. In all other cases, it should be considered murder. Partial birth abortion is the worst. One of the reasons I am against Obama is not only his stance on abortion, but partial birth abortion. For those of you who don’t know, sometimes abortions are unsuccessful, and the baby is accidentally left alive. Obama consistently voted against providing healthcare for that baby who is experiencing excruciating pain, because it might infringe on the mother’s right to choose. In other words, the baby suffers until it dies, because the mother wanted the baby to die to begin with, instead of accepting responsibility for her actions. And these same pro-life supporters make a huge deal out of things like hunting laws and cruelty to animals. What about cruelty to humans? Also, these people who are gung-ho for abortion usually are against the death penalty. Why is it okay to kill an innocent baby, but not ok to execute a murderer? Personally, as a Christian, I’m not even sure where I stand on this issue, because I see both sides of the issue. My point is not that the death penalty is right or wrong. My point is simply that the people who are against the death penalty for criminals are commonly supporters of a woman’s right to choose whether she is going to pay for her mistakes or her innocent baby will.

Next issue to discuss: taxes. The people who are all talking about how we need to raise taxes on the rich and the corporations have no idea what the results of doing that would be. First of all, we have the second highest corporate tax rate in the world, and these people want to raise it. They are also the same people who complain that inflation is so high! Somehow they don’t realize that companies have to raise their prices when their costs get raised! The lack of common sense among these people is astounding. Whether you like George W. Bush or whether you hate him, you cannot deny the truth of the situation he walked into in January of 2001. Bill Clinton left office during a recession. When Bush took office, he lowered corporate taxes, which allowed many new businesses to be opened, and millions of people were employed because of that. I find it interesting that a recession began again when democrats regained control of the congress.

So there you have it, life in the mind of a liberal. Of course, every person is different, and not all liberals believe the same exact things, as it is the same with conservatives. However, the average liberal stands for the very things that I pointed out, and they are the ones in control. I have split feelings for the next four years, because I am both terrified and exited at the same time. One might ask how that could be. My answer is that I am terrified of the leadership of this country, but am excited for the end result. When American’s figure out who’s really behind the mistakes made in the government, we will have a real change, and a good one. I believe that a true conservative will be running for office in 2012, and I believe that he or she will win. I think that this is what we needed to wake up the Republican Party, and to shake things up. My suggestion, as it always has been, is to have your own opinion, instead of borrowing someone else’s. I advise everyone to find the facts for themselves instead of adopting some else’s beliefs and to be their own person. God made you, why would you want to be someone else?

Hello My Name is _____ and I'm a Celebri-Holic!

Did anybody else notice that one the main headlines on Yahoo news the other day was “Britney and sons visit Louisiana”? My question to Yahoo news is…why the heck do I care? That’s one of the biggest problems in this nation. For some reason, we are so fascinated with celebrities and their everyday lives. Obviously, a massive majority of them are liberals and never say anything meaningful as to why that is. The fact is, that most of them are great looking, some funny, and some great musicians, and those are the qualities that many Americans would like to have. Unfortunately, we don’t leave it at that, and listen to the stupid things that they have to say and try to believe it ourselves. For example, I was flipping through a “People” magazine a couple months ago and Scarlett Johansson was quoted as saying something like: “Obama is change and embodies change. Change is what this country needs”. I’m sure that if you had had asked her what he was going to change, she would have answered as any Obama supporter would and say, well I don’t know specifically, but he’s not George Bush. Sure, change can be good! I changed my clothes today when I got out of bed, that’s all good and fine, but all that Obama ran his campaign on was that one word, not what it was he was going to change, nor how.

Other than the reasons that I mentioned earlier, why are we so impressed with these people? Sure their talents and looks are nice but their intelligence obviously isn’t. Why do many celebrities do stupid things intending to be in the spotlight, and then get angry when they are on the front pages of magazines for those stupid things? Why the heck do I care about where George Clooney is going on vacation? I might go see his latest movie, I might not, but I don’t need to know every aspect of his life because I just don’t care. I’m so sick though of all of these celebrities jumping on the Obama bandwagon. Did you hear that Oprah has been “unleashed” since the election? I understand her perspective that it means a lot to her that an African American man will be the next president, but the fact that many voted for him only because of that is just wrong.

One of the few good things that is going to come out of this election is that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton should never be heard from again. I’m so sick and tired of them playing the race card every single time that they have the opportunity. How about when Jesse Jackson said that the “n word” should be banned from the English language and then used it to describe Obama. Now he is supposedly happy that Obama won, but he’s probably actually upset because he knows he doesn’t have any credibility anymore. I really don’t care about what color Obama is. He could be green, purple, orange, or yellow. He could be a Smurf for all I care! The question is whether or not he can lead the country and there is no reason to believe that he can. Another one of the few good things that this will bring about might be a renewal of common sense in this nation. Conservative talk show hosts like Mike McConnell love it when democrats are in the White House and Congress because it makes their jobs more fun. Now that the President and Congress are both democratic, it’s time for them to put their money where their mouth is. They have nothing to complain about, and the conservative talk show hosts and journalists have the ability and listeners to point that out.

The media, however, will not be unfair to Obama the way that they have been to George W. Bush. They’re all liberal, and they helped to put him there so it would only make them look bad. Of course I wish that the election had gone differently, but the fact that it didn’t means that people are going to see who Obama really is! Look back across this campaign and realize how much the media tore Sarah Palin apart, and left alone the countless items that could have cost Obama the election. For example, why is it that Sarah Palin was criticized for wearing expensive clothing that she never asked for, but they didn’t put the spotlight on Michelle Obama on the same issue? Certain democrats even made claims that Sarah Palin’s youngest child was not her child! These claims are all unfounded with not a shred of evidence, but you would be torn apart if you suggested the same was true of the Obamas. Not only that, she TRIED to tell the media that Trig was her baby but they wanted us to believe that he wasn’t, so they lead us to believe that the baby wasn't hers! The media was especially tough on Palin after her interview with Katie Couric, because everybody thought that the interview was only six minutes long. However, the interview was actually two hours long, and they picked the worst six minutes of that interview to make her look bad. Then, Obama and Biden say all kinds of stupid things that nobody ever hears about, because it’s not important. When George Stephanopoulos, in an interview with Obama, made the comment commending McCain for not questioning his Christian beliefs, Obama replied, you’re right, he hasn’t questioned my Muslim beliefs, and Stephanopoulos had to remind him that he said Christian, not Muslim beliefs! Oops!!! We’ll just let that one slide, and not make that a major news story. We would rather take a pair of scissors to the interview that Katie Couric had with Palin and destroy her image!

It’s too late now though, and America has spoken. We now have a new leader and our enemies are licking their chops. Whether or not we will face another terrorist attack in the next four years, I honestly believe that there will be more attempts, even if they are stopped. I hope that I am wrong, but that’s why all of our enemies are so happy that we elected him. But as someone recently told me, God had a reason for allowing this to happen and we’re just going to have to give it time to find out what that reason was. As difficult as it is might be, we just need to pray for the man, because I could be wrong, and he might actually be good for the country. Thank you for taking the time to read this and enjoy your day.

"I actually did vote for the $87 Billion before I voted against it.."

Millions of Americans voted for Obama because they believe that Obama will end the war in Iraq very soon after he takes office. These people make the claim, well we shouldn’t be there to begin with, and it was not our war to fight, why go to war with a country that never attacked us. My question to these people is, “What would you have done if you had heard the threats to our country on September 10, 2001?” Exactly! We had a very similar threat, and people blamed Bush for not taking care of Bin Laden sooner. However, if we had gone to war the day before 9/11, he would have been criticized to no end. He had been criticized for not going to war soon enough and was not going to let that happen again!

Hillary Clinton voted to go to war, along with Edward Kennedy, John Kerry, and countless others, many who are democrats who never backed up their own decisions. Politics got involved and because the public didn’t see the intelligence that the politicians saw, they automatically lied about their votes. When the war became unpopular, the democrats all pretended that they had nothing to do with the decision to get rid of Saddam Hussein. Sean Hannity once played a recording of many democrats saying that we needed to go to war, then later when it was proven to be unpopular, said that Bush made a mistake. That video is on Youtube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCVZlLBchVE&feature=related
The only difference between Bush and all of the people who were with him on the decision to go to Iraq is that he was the only one to stick with it and not deny his involvement. Then you have Obama who has made the point saying that he was one of the few that was against Iraq, however he was a nobody at the time and didn’t even look at the intelligence the others did, so his argument is irrelevant.

I personally believe that at one time Saddam Hussein had the weapons that he once claimed to have. We know that he had a hatred for this country and that he had already attempted to assassinate George H. W. Bush. However, Americans are very quick to forget all of these things. Sure, I wish that we had killed Hussein the first time when Bush Sr. was in office, but we didn’t. I don’t care who you are, you can’t honestly say that this world isn’t better off without Saddam Hussein in power. It’s easy for Americans to complain about the war in Iraq, but they don’t remember the day that Saddam and his sons, who happened to be one of this nation’s greatest enemies in its history, were killed. They forget about the day that Iraqis tore down the statue that Saddam had put in their country. Americans don’t know that if Iraqis had disrespected Hussein the way that our country disrespects George Bush, they would be beheaded on the spot. If Hussein would do that to his OWN people, imagine what he would have done to ours!

When it boils down to it, we are winning this war, but the media is slowing us down. High ranking officials in the military make it known that we are making great progress there that the media doesn’t want you to know and won’t report. Americans complain about this war because the media only reports the cost and the number of lives lost. I am sorry, but thankful for every life given for his country, both now and in its past. I consider myself someone who is very grateful that the nation doesn’t have a draft, because I don’t what to be in the military. That being said, in 5 years of this war, we have lost around 4,000 – 4,500 men and women to this cause. We lost more soldiers in one day BATTLES in other wars that we have been in than we have lost in 5 years. I am not in any way disrespecting the lives given in this war, I am simply saying that many more may have been lost if we hadn’t gone. Most of the people who say that we shouldn’t have gone to Iraq would be asking George Bush when he is going to do something about Saddam Hussein if they had gotten what they wanted.

I honestly feel bad for the guy. It is impossible for him to make a good decision, because people complain no matter what he decides to do. Another perfect example of this occurred a year or so ago when the wildfires in California were taking place. The mayor of the city in which this was happening said that he was only visiting for publicity. He said that the secret service would have just been in the way and would have impeded the attempt to fix the problem. However when he didn’t go to New Orleans after Katrina, it was because he didn’t care, and because the majority of the population was African Americans, he was also called a racist. If you don’t believe that was the consensus, just go back and look up what Kanye West had to say about the issue. He made the comment, “George Bush don’t care about black people”. All because he knew that he would’ve been in the way and would have stopped the rescue crews from doing their jobs, he was labeled a racist for not getting in the way.

In short, George W. Bush is not the cause of all your everyday problems, as much as you might love to blame him. Just as Lou Dobbs blamed him for the Salmonella poisonings earlier this year, many people blame him for things such as their credit scores, high gasoline prices, food prices, amongst hundreds of other things. I think the problem in this country boils down to personal responsibility. It is always easier when there is someone else to blame, and it’s more fun and easier when you aren’t held accountable for making stupid comments. Most of the things people accuse him of have no basis, and its all hearsay. People who say that gas prices are his fault because he owns oil companies and that he doesn’t want the price of gas to go down should look at gas prices right now. I would welcome any of these accusers to come up with any evidence to support their claim and they would come up empty-handed. It’s amazing how much crap he took when prices were up but now that prices are going down nobody gives him any credit at all. He, of course, is only responsible for the bad things that happen, and if something good happens it is only because of sheer luck, or someone else stepped in. Don’t’ forget that democrats have been in control of the congress for two years, and that’s when the housing market started sinking, gas prices hit $4.00, and our economy hit the floor. However, the media got what they wanted, and an inexperienced, unqualified person will represent this nation for the next four years, all because the naïve nation will believe anything that David Letterman or Jon Stewart tells them. If the world doesn’t’ end by the time that Obama is through, the nation will be begging for another George Bush to run. Obama will change this nation from what it was founded on, to something that we have never seen, and the problems that it will cause, may last for decades. However, there is nothing we can do about it now. Just hope and pray for our new president, and support him as we now have no other choice, and hopefully we can make a new beginning. Enjoy your day and thank you for reading!

Well It's Official.....We're Screwed!!!

I’ve been dreading having to right this article for months, and it’s finally here. I have held out hope for a long time that we could trust the American people to educate themselves and be intelligent when they go to vote, and that hope is now gone. Now, it will be less than a year and all of those voters will be begging for the opportunity to take their vote back, and it will be way too late by that time. By that time, I predict that we will be in several very bad situations that will take us years to get out of. The government will have control of every aspect of our lives and democracy, as we know it, will be changed completely, if it will exist in this country at all.

I still hold true to my belief that voters should have to pass a test as they are registering to vote. Even if their vote would still count, it would at least prove that the majority of uneducated people vote democratic. As I have proven in previous articles, conservatives pay attention to current events on a much larger scale than liberals do. The sad truth in this nation is that it’s more convenient to be ignorant of the facts. Many people would say they don’t have time to look things up, and let Jon Stewart and Jay Leno make up their minds for them. People don’t want to know the facts because it requires too much responsibility, and we can’t have that!

I’m actually sick to my stomach. Not only is it disgusting that Obama will be the next president, it’s even more sickening that millions of Americans were responsible for it. As I’ve said before we will now receive the government we deserve. Because Obama has been elected, we will now be a completely different nation with a weak and unqualified leader, and will find this “change” to be our demise. The change that he presents will transform our incentive based democracy to a laziness rewarding socialistic society.

I was watching MSNBC last night to see what Keith Olberman had to say. I had to turn the channel because I can’t stand the guy to begin with, and was yelling at the TV too much. He was whining about how unfair the media had been to Obama. HOW UNFAIR THE MEDIA WAS TO OBAMA? How about all the times that Sarah Palin was slandered, and how much terrible coverage there was over her daughter’s pregnancy. Then of course there was the fact that the media didn’t report anything about the “spreading the wealth around”. The media picked on Joe the Plumber more in one month than they did on Obama in over a year! It’s sad that the Keith Olbermans of the world cry about the “unfair” bias on the right, but look the other way when it comes to the overwhelming majority of unfair bias on the left.

I’m still kind of in a daze right now. I’m still in disbelief because all of our enemies are laughing at us. We will now lose all of the progress that we have made in Iraq, and will now be a target for a terrorist attack. Whether or not you believe in this war, you cannot deny that we will have lost all that we had gained and it will all have been for nothing. At the start of this war, Osama Bin Laden told Al Qaeda that American’s don’t have the stomach for a war, and Obama is going to prove him right. Our troops should come home with a feeling of accomplishment, and now they are going to come home feeling like the last 5 years were pointless.

I think the worst part of all of this is that Obama’s not going to have any resistance in the House or Senate. Foolish Americans don’t realize that the democrats have been the reason that the last two years have sucked so bad. They blame it all on what they believe is the dictator of this nation, George W. Bush. They forget that 6 out of the last 8 years were actually not all that bad, and that the last two is when the bottom fell out, and don’t put the blame where it belongs. Things like the housing crisis, gas prices hitting $4.00, and the economy tanking as a whole all happened after the democrats took over the congress. After this election, they received several more seats in both the house and the senate, and so now the democrats have complete control over the government. We are in deep crap right now, and the blame should be placed on uninformed voters.

Enjoy the next 2 months before Obama officially becomes the President of the United States of America. Unless he is impeached, we won’t see the type of freedom and democracy that we have right now for another four years. We have earned this though, but I am more than happy to be wrong. I don’t usually mention that, but I would love to be incorrect, and hope that I am. Unfortunately, it’s not only conservative views that lead me to believe these things, but also common sense, which, as I state in the title of this blog, they go together. Pray for our country, because we have just elected the most inexperienced and most unqualified president in history for all the wrong reasons.

Either Way, We're in Trouble.....

I heard someone say the other day that people who didn’t know the issues should just stay home and not vote. I couldn’t agree more. I think we should have an exam that you have to pass before you vote. The questions on the exam would be general questions that people who pay attention to current events would know. My take on it is that if you don’t pay attention to current events now, you have no purpose in voting because you won’t pay attention to them later to see if your candidate is trying to do the things he or she promised. The people who don’t pay attention to real current events should stay home and read their People Magazine and US Weekly and watch Showbiz Tonight, because that’s where they get their “news”. If these people would turn the channel and get their news from Fox instead of Leno, Letterman, and Conan, they might have a different outlook on who they should vote for.

That being said, looking back on the last several months, McCain has run a terrible campaign. I say that because there were so many things that could have and needed to be said that weren’t, and he didn’t take shots when he had the chance to. For example, when asked whether or not we should fear an Obama presidency, he said we had nothing to fear! Obama is the least experienced and least qualified person to lead this nation. Of course we should fear an Obama presidency because he thinks that Iran is a country that doesn’t pose a threat because they’re “small”. We shouldn’t fear a president who has had associations with terrorists? (Notice that word is plural). I have never heard McCain say a word about Jeremiah Wright either, and that bothers me. Obama sat in the man’s church for 20 years, heard racist and America hating “sermons”, but claimed that he didn’t know that Wright felt this way. You don’t sit in a church for 20 years and not know that your minister hates America and is a racist, and if you do, you’re nowhere near intelligent enough to be the leader of the most powerful country in the world.

The very fact that Obama is a presidential candidate is proof that America is going downhill. It proves that Americans are becoming more and more willingly ignorant by not recognizing the lies that he presents. He continues tell people that he will pay teachers more, give college students more scholarships amongst other things. What he doesn’t tell you is that the federal government has nothing to do with any of those things and that it would be impossible in a democracy for him to change that. However, American’s are so willing to hear something new and different that he could say he would lower the cost of movie tickets and they would vote for him, because they would actually believe him. If he gets what he wants and is actually able to do these things, it would be because he tore up the constitution and turned democracy to socialism. The only way to give more college students scholarships is by having the government take over the colleges, but nobody understands that.

Another thing that McCain has failed to do is defend tax breaks for corporations and oil companies. People hear about tax breaks for the wealthy, corporations, and oil companies and instantly think that it’s because Bush has ties to oil companies. What they don’t take into consideration is that the wealthy employ the middle class. If we tax the wealthy to death, which we already do now, they won’t be able to pay the people that they employ. With corporations, who do you think pays their income taxes? WE DO! We have the second highest corporation tax in the world, and Obama wants to make it higher. The prices of their products are so high because they have to pass on the costs, including taxes. It’s the same way with oil companies. They already have high taxes, and when they get taxed more, the price of gas goes up, so when their taxes aren’t cut, we pay for it! Obama wants to be Robin Hood by taking from the rich and giving to the poor. Only in this case, the majority of the wealthy people in America got where they are because they worked for it. The people that Obama wants to give their wealth to don’t work and wait for a government handout. He says that 95% will get a tax credit under his plan; however 40% of American’s don’t pay income taxes to begin with. In other words, he’s going to cut a check to the people who don’t pay income taxes, which is welfare. We should be strongly reforming the welfare system so that Americans can’t abuse the system and Obama’s plan is to make it worse and reward laziness even more!

I personally think though that it’s just getting started. I hate to be a pessimist, but this country is screwed either way. It’s difficult to word what I am about to say delicately, but I will do my best. If Obama wins, we are screwed for every reason that I have already mentioned, plus a few others. If Obama loses, America will be labeled as a racist nation, because it’s impossible to disagree with “the one” on the issues. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and all of the people who think that every white American is a racist will “prove their point” if Obama loses. What it boils down to though is that those two don’t want Obama to win to begin with, because if he does, they’ll have to admit they were wrong and that white Americans aren’t all racists. In other words, they will lose their jobs and all of their credibility. Voting FOR Obama just because he’s black is just as bad as voting AGAINST him because he’s black and people just don’t get that. All of these people who are proud of him for being where he is should look at what he stands for and then see if they’re still proud of him. While the numbers aren’t high, there are a few African Americans who are not voting for him because of what he stands for, they just aren’t heard by enough people.

This will be my last article before the election, which of course is tomorrow. I am nervous, because as much as I hate it, I’ve got a pretty bad feeling about which way it’s going to go. As I said in my last article though, maybe this is what we need to turn our country around. Maybe after four years of Obama in the office America will realize how badly we were fooled, and will be ready to put the republicans in the White House and in the congress. If you are a hard working American who earns your paycheck every week and want to keep as much of it as possible, stand up and go vote for McCain. Obama will take it and give it to somebody who sits around watching soaps and Judge Judy everyday when they are completely capable of working. Those people already get enough of my tax dollars and they don’t need more!

My name is Shaun Mount and Barack Obama would NOT approve this message!
